acs_mail_lite::bounce_address_valid_p (public)

 acs_mail_lite::bounce_address_valid_p address

Defined in packages/acs-mail-lite/tcl/email-inbound-procs.tcl

Returns true when address has the configured bounce prefix and domain and a valid, unexpired signature created by unique_id_create. Accepts a bare address or an address enclosed in angle brackets. The domain and hexadecimal signature are case insensitive. The signed identifier is case sensitive. Unsigned message IDs and FixedSenderEmail addresses without a signature return false. Both expiring and permanent signatures are supported, independently of the current IncomingMaxAge. This validates the address only: it neither looks up message metadata nor processes a bounce. Errors accessing the signature token store propagate to the caller, which can temporarily defer SMTP delivery.

Parameters:
address (required)
